Aeropostale Q4 Loss Widens - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Aeropostale, Inc. (ARO) Thursday said fourth-quarter loss widened to $70.3 million or $0.90 per share from $0.7 million or $0.01 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted loss for the quarter was $27.1 million or $0.35 per share. On average, 28 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.31 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Sales decreased 16 percent to $670.0 million from $797.7 million last year. Analysts expected sales of $683.79 million.

Comparable store sales, including the e-commerce channel, decreased 15 percent, compared to a decrease of 8 percent last year.

Looking ahead to the first quarter, the company has forecast a loss in the range of $0.70 to $0.75 per share. Analysts currently expect first-quarter loss of $0.17 per share.
