Adobe Honors Independent Filmmaking at Sundance Film Festival 2005
Adobe Honors Independent Filmmaking at Sundance Film Festival 2005 Filmmakers to Experience the Latest Desktop HD Digital Intermediate Workflow at Adobe-Sponsored Workshops, Hands-On Classrooms and Digital Forums
Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced its expanded commitment to independent filmmaking through its sustaining sponsorship of the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, which runs until January 30, in Park City, Utah. As filmmakers adopt the latest desktop digital technology for the completion of their productions, Adobe is participating in important industry events, such as the world renowned Sundance Film Festival, to honor their work. As part of its sponsorship, Adobe is participating in the Sundance Digital Center, hosting daily workshops and taking part in several digital forums during the festival.
"Adobe is proud to be involved with the Sundance Institute, as we acknowledge and honor independent filmmaking," said Bryan Lamkin, senior vice president of Digital Imaging and Video Products at Adobe. "With Adobe's editing and visual effects software platform, we're offering the independent film community a professional and accessible toolset that helps them bring their stories to life in new and compelling ways."
At the Sundance Digital Center, Adobe is demonstrating its filmmaking solutions in two daily workshop sessions. The first session highlights a real-world example of a revolutionary new Adobe-based HD digital intermediate workflow, which allows filmmakers to mix media, add titles, effects and color correct within an all-digital workflow. The second session explains HDV technology -- how it works, what benefits and challenges it presents, and how Adobe(R) Premiere(R) Pro 1.5 provide a rich editing experience for aspiring filmmakers. Hewlett-Packard and Intel will join Adobe in the Sundance Digital Center to highlight desktop and mobile HDV editing solutions. Adobe is also involved in three forums focusing on the future of independent filmmaking.
"We are delighted that Adobe has returned as a sustaining sponsor of the 2005 Film Festival," said Ian Calderon, director for Digital Initiatives for the Sundance Institute. "Our history with Adobe has been very successful in the past and we look forward to featuring their technology at this year's festival. Adobe's passion and commitment to the independent film community is evident through the introduction of their latest products, which we believe will have a significant impact on the evolution of the creative process of filmmaking."
Adobe software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects(R) and Adobe Photoshop(R) CS, enables filmmakers to exercise their creativity and tell their story efficiently and cost-effectively. The Adobe Video Collection 2.5 Professional Edition for Windows(R) XP includes Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects Professional, Adobe Audition(R), Adobe Encore(TM) DVD, and Adobe Photoshop CS software for an estimated street price of US$1499. The Adobe Video Collection 2.5 Standard edition, which contains After Effects Standard and does not contain Photoshop CS, is available for an estimated street price of US$999.
