Swedish Service Production Rises 0.6% In May

(RTTNews) - Sweden's service production increased modestly from last year in the month of May, preliminary data released by Statistics Sweden showed Friday.

The volume of output in the service sector advanced a working-day adjusted 0.6 percent year-on-year in May.

Output in the retail sales sector advanced 3.6 percent annually, and production in art, entertainment and recreation climbed 7 percent. Output of real estate activities rose 1.2 percent from a year earlier, and professional, scientific and technical activities advanced by 2.3 percent.

During the three months ended May, however, service production decreased a seasonally adjusted 0.6 percent from the preceding three-month period, data showed.
