Spain Manufacturing Activity Strong In December
(RTTNews) - Spain's manufacturing sector continued to expand at a stable pace in December, though the corresponding index was lower than in November, survey data from Markit Economics showed Friday.
The seasonally adjusted manufacturing purchasing managers' index, or PMI, fell to 53.8 in December from 54.7 in November. A score above 50 indicates expansion in the manufacturing sector.
This marked the thirteenth consecutive month of expansion in manufacturing activity.
Manufacturing production and new orders increased in December, though at a slower rate.
Employment levels grew at the fastest rate since June 2007.
Input costs rebounded after four months of decline, though at a marginal rate. Output prices also rose slightly.
