Slovenia Q2 Economic Growth Eases
(RTTNews) - Slovenia's economy expanded at a slower pace in the three months ended June, preliminary figures from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia showed Monday.
Gross domestic product grew an unadjusted 2.6 percent year-over-year in the second quarter, following 2.8 percent stable growth in the previous quarter.
In the second quarter, the economic growth was mostly contributed by manufacturing and trade. The value added in manufacturing increased by 5.7 percent from the prior year and the wholesale and retail trade value grew by 4.0 percent.
Private consumption strengthened in the June quarter, rising 1.8 percent annually. Both exports and import climbed 5.5 percent and 3.7 percent, respectively.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, GDP advanced at a slower pace of 2.5 percent in the second quarter from a year ago, after a 2.9 percent growth registered in the first quarter. Quarterly, the economic growth remained stable at 0.7 percent during the said period.
