Luxembourg Unemployment Rate Stable For Second Month

(RTTNews) - Luxembourg's jobless rate held steady for the second straight month in January, figures from the statistical office STATEC showed Monday.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate came in at 7.0 percent in January, the same rate as in the previous two months. A year ago, the rate was 7.1 percent.

The jobless rate was the lowest since August 2013, when it was 6.9 percent.

The number of unemployed people increased to 18,132 in January from 18,207 in the previous month. In the same month of the previous year, the jobless totaled 18,179.

On an unadjusted basis, the number of registered unemployed persons rose by 0.5 percent to 19,468 in January from 19,362 in December.
