Japan Nov Household Spending Falls At Slower Than Expected Rate

(RTTNews) - Japan's household spending fell at a slower than expected rate in November, data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication showed Friday.

Household spending declined 2.5 percent year-on-year in November, slower than the 3.6 percent fall expected by economists. This follows a 4 percent drop in October.

In nominal terms, the average expenditure of two-or-more-persons households rose 0.3 percent.

The average monthly income for worker households slid 3.9 percent in real terms, faster than the 2.1 percent decline in the previous month.
