Eurozone Sentix Investor Confidence Falls Unexpectedly
(RTTNews) - Eurozone investor sentiment declined unexpectedly in December from a two-and-a-half year high, a monthly survey by the think tank Sentix showed on Monday.
The confidence index came in at 8 points in December, down from 9.3 in November. The reading was forecast to rise to 10.3.
The assessment of current situation declined sharply to -6.3 from -3.3 in November.
Meanwhile, investors' expectations improved for the second consecutive month, to 23.3 in December from 22.8 a month ago. Expectations reached its highest level since April 2006, it said.
In Germany, confidence rose by almost 2 points to 32.1, the highest since December 2010 as expectations hit a new all-time high, the survey showed.
