ENGIE BRAZIL: Net Profit Rises 8.6% In The 1Q18, To R$ 489.3 Million

(RTTNews) - Brazil's largest private-sector electricity producer Engie's net profit grew 8.6% in the first quarter from a year before, to R$ 489.3 million. Net revenue rose 16.4% in the same comparison and totaled R$ 1.9 billion.

Gross electricity output fell 2.8%, to 4,630 average megawatt (MWa).

Total electricity sold by Engie was 3.7% higher, at 4,174 MWa in the first quarter, from 4,025 MWa a year earlier. The average sale price of electricity fell 1.1%, to R$ 177.76, in the same comparison.

Engie's EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) grew 18.2% in the first quarter from a year before, to R$ 1 billion.
