Austria July Inflation Accelerates
(RTTNews) - Austria's consumer price inflation accelerated in July, figures from Statistics Austria showed Friday.
The consumer price index rose 1.2 percent year-over-year in July, faster than previous month's 1.0 percent climb. Month-on-month, consumer prices fell 0.4 percent in July.
The decisive factor for this rise was an increase in price dynamics in particular in air tickets, for package holidays and at the apartment maintenance, the agency said.
Utility costs grew 1.4 percent and prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages went up by 0.9 percent. At the same time, transport costs declined 2.1 percent.
The EU measure of inflation, or HICP, climbed 1.1 percent yearly in July, slightly faster than June's 1.0 percent hike. On a monthly basis, the harmonized index of consumer prices dropped 0.5 percent.
