Moody's: Higher sugarcane output to benefit Brazilian producers, but challenges remain

Sao Paulo, May 27, 2015 -- Projected growth in sugarcane crushing volumes in the 2015-16 harvest in Brazil's Center-South region is credit positive for the sugar-ethanol producers in that region, says Moody's Investors Service in a new report. Companies that maintained their investments in cane treatment and plantations through the challenging 2014-15 harvest, such as Raízen Energia S.A., will benefit the most.
