Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. -- Moody's affirms Endurance Specialty's ratings following announced acquisition of Montpelier Re Holdings; outlook is stable
New York, March 31, 2015 -- Moody's Investors Service, ("Moody's") has affirmed the debt and preferred stock ratings of Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. (Endurance - senior debt at Baa2) and the A3 insurance financial strength ratings of Endurance's principal operating subsidiaries following Endurance's announcement that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. (Montpelier Re -- not rated), a Bermuda-based global reinsurer. The outlook for the ratings is stable.
