Young Artist and Port Washington Student Spreads Love with Art
PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., Nov. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Among the recent hate crimes and bomb scares throughout Long Island, there is a flicker of hope. Meet Adam Jonah, 17, of Port Washington, NY. The youngest artist to be featured at the Ille Arts Gallery, Adam plans to spend this holiday season using his art to spread healing and unity throughout the community. Visit www.froeg.com for more information.
Beginning November 25 through January 2, Adam's artwork will be featured in a group exhibit "Holiday Show" at Ille Arts Gallery in Amagansett, NY. The show is intended to celebrate art, freedom of expression, and all that is right with our community.
In the company of professional and emerging artists, Adam will showcase his signature acrylic paintings in bright, bold hues. He will also debut a mixed media digital photograph of an ink imaginary creature. Adam's self-published art and philosophy book, Scuba Ond Scubo, will be available for purchase, as well. All proceeds from any of Adam's work will go directly to charity.
"With my art, I seek to promote tolerance, openness, and respect. I use it to send messages of positivity and love," says Adam. "Hate does not represent who we are, or who we are meant to be as a community," Adam said. Recently Adam's high school, Paul D. Schreiber High School in the Port Washington Union Free School District, was featured in headlines across the country when a swastika was found on a bathroom wall. The hate crime inspired a newfound desire to paint with purpose.
Adam's website www.froeg.com will soon become a charity promoting healing through art. Adam intends to place photographs of nature and artful creatures in children's hospitals and emergency rooms as an interactive experience for children to feel inspired and unafraid. Adam first combined his passion for community service and art at The First City project, where he created a mural with other well-known urban graffiti artists who collaborated to transform the historic Coles House into a living art space.
