Wipro Q2 Profit Down, Revenues Rise - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - India-based software services company Wipro Ltd. (WIT) reported Friday that its second-quarter net income attributable to equity holders of the company declined 8 percent to 20.67 billion Indian rupees or $312 million from last year's 22.41 billion rupees.

Earnings per share were 8.52 rupees or $0.13, down from 9.10 rupees last year.

Gross revenues were 137.66 billion rupees or $2.1 billion, an increase of 10% from last year's 125.14 billion rupees.

IT Services segment revenue was 131.4 billion rupees, an increase of 9%. In dollar terms, IT Services Segment revenue grew 4.6 percent to $1.92 billion, but was down 0.8% sequentially.

Looking ahead, for the third quarter, the company expects revenues from IT Services business to be in the range of $1.916 billion to $ 1.955 billion.
