Business Editors/High-Tech Writers
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 2005--WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:WGRD), a leading provider of network security solutions, today announced two new agreements with leading distribution companies in the Asia Pacific market. PacRim Technologies Ltd., a GrandTech company, will distribute WatchGuard's full line of integrated security appliances designed for growing enterprises and small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Hong Kong through PacRim's strong network of resellers. Transition Systems, a leader in value-added distribution of networking products who has distributed WatchGuard's full range of integrated security products in Singapore since mid-2004, has extended its partnership with WatchGuard into the Philippines.
Under the terms of the agreements, both PacRim and Transition Systems will be responsible for delivery and support of the WatchGuard Firebox X line of integrated security appliances with full model upgrade capability. The Firebox X line combines firewall, VPN, deep application inspection, intrusion prevention functionality, spam blocking, Web filtering and authentication in a single appliance. PacRim and Transition Systems will also help expand WatchGuard's local channel of authorized resellers in their respective territories and support WatchGuard Secure Partners (WSPs) with programs including training, lead generation, and pre- and post-sales service and support.
"Our focus is on partnering with value-added distributors who are committed to building a long-term business with WatchGuard. We believe that PacRim's distribution experience and extensive reseller network will help us to significantly grow our business in Hong Kong," said Jeff Hurmuses, managing director, Asia Pacific, WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. "Likewise, Transition Systems' broad distribution channel combined with its in-depth product and market knowledge, technical expertise, first-rate pre-sales support and results-oriented approach has made it a proven and reliable partner to successfully expand our market share in the Asia Pacific market."
"PacRim offers a wide spectrum of distribution services, covering marketing, sales and technical support to our vendors. In today's challenging network security landscape, we are as equally devoted as WatchGuard in providing growing enterprises and SMEs in Hong Kong with an effective integrated security solution that offers exceptional firewall and VPN capability combined with intuitive ease of use and flexibility," said Marco Chau, business manager, PacRim Technologies Ltd.
"WatchGuard completes our product portfolio with its all-in-one security offering, thus enabling us to provide a more comprehensive, yet flexible, range of products to vertical markets," said Jonathan Juay, managing director of Transition Systems.
