Verizon Offers Up To $650 Per Line, 2GB Free Data For Life To Switch Carriers

(RTTNews) - As part of the efforts to lure customers to its network, Verizon Wireless will offer up to $650 per line to customers switching to the company from other telecom operators like AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. The company will also offer 2 GB of bonus data every month for life for the switch.

According to Verizon, 87 percent of T-Mobile customers and 86 percent of Sprint customers who switched back to Verizon within six months of leaving Verizon said that network quality and performance was the number one reason they came back.

Verizon said that under the new plan, it will buy out a customer's contract and cover early termination fees and device or lease buyouts from the old wireless provider.

A customer need to port his number to Verizon from another carrier, purchase a 4G LTE smartphone with a new device payment activation, and trade-in his existing device from the previous wireless provider.

The customer will get up to $650 on a prepaid card for the installment plan balance less the old device's trade-in value, or up to a $350 prepaid card for early termination fees less the device trade-in value. A family of four people can use the incentive on each eligible line and receive up to $2,600.

The trade-in device must be in good working condition and be worth more than $0, and the switching customer must keep the new line active for a minimum of 6 months.

In addition, customers switching to Verizon and selecting the XL or XXL Verizon plan will get 2 GB of bonus data every month for life, for as long as their device is active on the plan.
