USA TODAY and Gannett Partner with MobileVoiceControl to Bring Voice-Driven Mobile Search to BlackBerry

USA TODAY and Gannett (NYSE:GCI) announced today thatthey have partnered with MobileVoiceControl, Inc. to bring naturalvoice access to USA TODAY's mobile content using BlackBerry(a) fromResearch In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq:RIMM)(TSX:RIM).

The partnership enables BlackBerry users to search a vast array ofinformation by simply pressing an assigned button on their device andspeaking the request. The BlackBerry Browser(TM) is automaticallylaunched and opened to a page displaying the requested content.Initially, USA TODAY will provide real-time national content in areassuch as News, Money, Sports, Life and Weather. In the future, localcontent from Gannett newspaper and broadcast television stations willbe available via the application. The solution is available on theSprint Nationwide PCS Network.

MobileVoiceControl's patent-pending technology is easy to use andits search and recognition accuracy is unprecedented in the mobileenvironment. By simply saying commands into their BlackBerry, mobileusers can now search for information including top stories, sportsscores, weather forecasts, movie times, 411 information, stock quotesand more while they are on the go. The system also gives users theability to dial by voice command, verbally add appointments to theircalendars, and to dictate emails instead of typing them.

The system is downloadable to the user's BlackBerry handset overthe air and does not require any user voice training. Most users areup and running in minutes.
