Univision Commends Diego Ruiz on His Appointment to the Federal Communications Commission

Diego Ruiz had served as Vice President and General Manager ofKUVS-Univision 19 and KTFK-TeleFutura 64 since June 2002. Previously,Ruiz served as Vice President and General Manager of Univision Online,Univision Communication's internet division. Before launchingUnivision Online, Ruiz served as Station Manager of KMEX-TV Channel34, Univision's flagship station in Los Angeles. He joined Univisionin 1997 after receiving his MBA from Harvard Business School. Prior tojoining Univision, Ruiz worked in the United States Congress from 1990to 1995. He received his BA with a double major in History and EnglishLiterature from the University of Virginia in 1988.
While in Sacramento, Ruiz served on the Boards of Directors of theCalifornia Chamber of Commerce, the California BroadcastersAssociation, the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and theAmerican Heart Association's Sacramento chapter.
