TSX Flat At Open Friday

(RTTNews) - Bay Street stocks were little changed at open Friday amid selling in metals stocks, with the S&P/TSX Composite Index edging up 15.35 points or 0.12 percent to 13,340.10.

The Global Gold Index was down nearly 1 percent, with Goldcorp. (G.TO) and Barrick Gold (ABX.TO) losing around 1 percent each.

On the other hand, Agnico-Eagle Mines (AEM.TO) rose over 1 percent after the company reported much improved quarterly earnings Thursday.

In he base-metals space, Teck Resources (TCK_B.TO) and First Quantum Minerals (FM.TO) were down around 1 percent each.

In the oil patch, Suncor Energy (SU.TO) and Niko Resources (NKO.TO) were up around 1 percent each, while MEG Energy (MEG.TO) shed nearly 1 percent.
