TSX Down At Open Tuesday
(RTTNews) - Bay Street stocks moved down at open Tuesday amid marginal selling across a variety of sectors, with the S&P/TSX Composite Index shedding 4.15 points or 0.03 percent to 13, 354.24.
The Global Gold Index was down over 1 percent, with Royal Gold (RGL.TO), Agnico-Eagle Mines (AEM.TO) and Alamos Gold (AGI.TO) losing nearly 1 percent each. On the other hand, Detour Gold (DGC.TO) rose over 2 percent.
In the oil patch, Pacific Rubiales Energy (PRE.TO) shed close to 2 percent, while Bonterra Energy (BNE.TO) slipping 0.50 percent.
Among financial stocks, CIBC (CM.TO) and TD Bank (TD.TO) eased nearly 0.50 percent each.
Healthcare company Shoppers Drug Mart Corp (SC.TO) edged down 0.10 percent after posting third-quarter adjusted net earnings that came in above consensus estimates.
Yellow Media (Y.TO) surrendered nearly 1 percent after announcing a 10 percent reduction in its overall workforce.
