Trump Fires Back At Jamie Dimon, Says He Isn't Smart Enough To Be President

(RTTNews) - US President Donald Trump has punched back at Jamie Dimon by saying that the CEO of JP Morgan Chase is not smart enough to run for president.

"The problem with banker Jamie Dimon running for President is that he doesn't have the aptitude or "smarts" & is a poor public speaker & nervous mess — otherwise he is wonderful. I've made a lot of bankers, and others, look much smarter than they are with my great economic policy!" Trump wrote on twitter.

Yesterday, Dimon had said he could beat President Donald Trump in an head-to-head election.

"I think I could beat Trump," Dimon said Wednesday during an event held at his bank's Park Avenue headquarters in New York, according to CNBC. "Because I'm as tough as he is, I'm smarter than he is. I would be fine. He could punch me all he wants, it wouldn't work with me. I'd fight right back.

However, Dimon apologized shortly after he issued those comments as it had created a huge uproar.

"I should not have said it. I'm not running for president," the CEO said about an hour after he said the original statement. "Proves I wouldn't make a good politician. I get frustrated because I want all sides to come together to help solve big problems."
