TreeHouse Foods Recalls Some Products Due To Possible Salmonella Risk

(RTTNews) - TreeHouse Foods Inc. (THS) announced a voluntary recall of certain macaroni and cheese cup products containing cheddar cheese seasoning which may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. Most individuals recover without treatment. In some cases, diarrhea may be so severe that the patient needs to be hospitalized. The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness.

Product was distributed nationwide through retail stores.

The company urged consumers who have purchased any of the products to dispose or return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
