Transmode joins the OpenDaylight Project

Stockholm, Sweden - 6th November 2014 - Transmode, a global supplier of packet optical networking solutions, today announced that it has joined the OpenDaylight project, a collaborative open source project for the advancement of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV). Transmode has joined as a silver member.

In joining the OpenDaylight Project, Transmode demonstrates its active support for the project and the willingness to bring an open, common platform for SDN and NFV to the industry as quickly as possible.

The OpenDaylight Project was founded April 2013 and is hosted by the Linux Foundation. It was created as a community-led and industry-supported project to advance SDN and NFV. The goal of the OpenDaylight Project is to offer a functional SDN platform that gives users directly deployed SDN without the need for other components. In addition to this, contributing companies can deliver expertise and add-ons that will offer more value to OpenDaylight.
