The Swiss Stock Market Surpassed The 9,300 Point Level

(RTTNews) - The Swiss stock market climbed again Tuesday, bringing its recent winning streak to 5 sessions. Today's gain was less substantial than the previous four as investors began to turn a bit cautious.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has to convince his party and the Greek Parliament to back tough austerity measures by Wednesday's EU-imposed deadline or face the country's bankruptcy.

The Swiss Market Index increased by 0.66 percent Tuesday and finished at 9,311.07. The Swiss Leader Index climbed by 0.69 percent and the Swiss Performance Index gained 0.64 percent.

Shares of Kuehne + Nagel were in focus, after its results for the first half of the year exceeded expectations. The stock finished higher by 2.2 percent. Investors were also pleased by management comments that the momentum is expected to continue in the second half of the year.

Transocean was the top gainer of the session, with an increase of 3.4 percent. Global oil stocks were under pressure after the world's major powers reached a landmark agreement with Iran on the future of its nuclear program. Investors were concerned by the prospect of Iranian crude oil becoming available in a market that is already oversupplied.

Aryzta climbed by 2.6 percent Tuesday, adding to the gain of over 3 percent yesterday. Shares of the baked goods manufacturer had clearly underperformed in recent weeks and months, compared to the overall market.

Credit Suisse rose by 1.3 percent, following the better than expected earnings report from JPMorgan in the United States. UBS also finished higher by 0.6 percent.

Lafarge Holcim closed up by 1.4 percent on its first trading day since the completion of the merger. Schindler climbed by 2.5 percent and Adecco advanced by 1.6 percent. Richemont increased by 1.1 percent and Swatch added 1.0 percent.

Among the index heavyweights, Novartis gained 1.0 percent and Nestle added 0.8 percent. Meanwhile, Roche finished with a loss of 0.04 percent.
