Telewest Appoints Stephen Beynon as M.D., Telewest Business

    LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 15, 2005--Telewest Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: TLWT) has today announced the appointment of a new Managing Director of its Business Division.
    Stephen Beynon, 39, who commenced his appointment on the 14th March joins Telewest from Band-X Ltd, a provider of managed services to the telecoms industry where he had been Chief Executive Officer since December 2000. He started his telecoms career at Mercury Communications in 1988. Since then he has held a variety of senior positions across the telecommunications industry in a career spanning 17 years in both the UK and Australia.
    In Australia, Stephen was the Managing Director of the Business Division of Optus Communications. Prior to that he was the Director responsible for voice and data products and the MD of the wholesale division of Optus. During his time in Australia, Stephen was a key member of the management team, which took Optus through a successful IPO, and eventual sale to Singtel.
    Stephen will be responsible for the day to day running of the business division and driving the development of its services to the public and private sector markets. He will report directly to Eric Tveter, President and Chief Operating Officer and will take over the role of MD from Howard Watson, Chief Technology Officer of Telewest Broadband who has been acting MD since October 2004.
