Swiss Market Ekes Out Thin Gains In Lackluster Session

(RTTNews) - The Swiss stock market bounced around in a narrow trading range on Tuesday before closing the session with minimal gains.

The market showed weakness at the open, before beginning a recovery in the middle of the day. Trading was sluggish throughout the session.

There was a lack of news to stimulate trading. Investors did receive financial statements from Nobel Biocare and reacted to economic data out of the U.S. in the afternoon.

The Swiss Market Index closed 0.05 percent higher on the session, ending at 8,419.92. The Swiss Leader Index advanced 0.05 percent and the broad SPI put in a flat performance, finishing at 8,045.37.

Among individual stocks, Transocean was a notable mover, falling by 2.1 percent. Holcim lost 0.8 percent after it received an analyst downgrade.
