Stock Alert: AMC Entertainment Up 4%

(RTTNews) - Shares of American movie theatre chain AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (AMC) are up 4 percent on Thursday trading even though there is no company-specific news to influence the stock movement.

In the U.S, national COVID-19 cases have mostly been stagnant since the last month. Nowadays, around 67,000 new infections are being detected every day, a sharp decline from the 250,000 recorded daily during the peak in January.

The declining numbers along with the increased vaccination drive have given hope to theatre chains like AMC that more people will visit the movie halls to watch cinemas.

The stock was trading at $10.23, up $0.45 or 4.60% on the NYSE.

The company stock has traded between $1.91 and $20.36 in the last 52-weeks.
