SolarCity Q2 Loss Widens

(RTTNews) - SolarCity Corp. (SCTY) reported a net loss for the second quarter of $88.5 million or $0.52 per share, compared to a net loss of $41.1 million or $0.52 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Adjusted loss before noncontrolling interests and redeemable noncontrolling interests was $0.96 per share in the second quarter of 2014.

Revenue for the second quarter rose to $61.33 million from $37.95 million a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.99 per share on revenue of $63.24 million for the second quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

For the third quarter, the company forecasts an adjusted loss before noncontrolling interests and redeemable noncontrolling interests $1.10 to $1.20 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to report a loss of $1.00 per share for the third quarter.
