Report : Chico's FAS To Weigh Sale Amid New Interest From Private Equity

(RTTNews) - Specialty retailer Chico's FAS Inc. (CHS) is weighing a sale of the company, Bloomberg reported citing people familiar with the matter.

The report indicated that the company is working with investment bank Peter J. Solomon to explore its options. A deal between Chico's and Sycamore fell through in February after disagreements over financing.

Sycamore has made an offer and is lining up financing while talks continue with other potential bidders. There is no guarantee of a deal, with a decision probably weeks away, the report said.

Last month, the company had announced its plan to exit Boston Proper direct-to-consumer (DTC) business and close its existing stores.

CHS closed Friday's trading at $15.12, up $0.02 or 0.13%.
