Rent-A-Center Reveals 18% Fall In Q2 Profit

(RTTNews) - Rent-A-Center (RCII) reported a profit for second quarter that declined from last year.

The company said its earnings declined to $21.75 million, or $0.46 per share. This was lower than $26.60 million, or $0.50 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.49 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 8.1% to $749.62 million. This was down from $815.34 million last year.
