General Motors Co. (GM) is gaining over 1 percent to $37.70. The company's second quarter earnings declined from the last year quarter, but its adjusted earnings per share topped Wall Street view. Net revenue topped analysts' estimate. The company said it continues to perform well in the U.S. and China and has also made further progress in its European business.

Facebook, Inc. (FB) is jumping 23 percent to $32.72. The company swung to a profit in its second quarter and its adjusted earnings per share came above Wall Street view. Revenue rose 53 percent and also topped the consensus estimate. Advertising revenue for the quarter surged 61 percent from the year-ago quarter.

Boston Scientific Corp. (BSX) is gaining 9 percent to $10.47. The company swung to a profit in it second quarter. Net sales for the quarter declined from the last year quarter, but came above the consensus estimate. The company raised its full year 2013 sales and adjusted earnings guidance.

Biogen Idec Inc. (BIIB) is gaining 3 percent to $234.00. The company's second quarter profit improved from the last year period. Total revenues rose 21 percent and came above the consensus estimate. Biogen Idec also raised its full-year 2013 financial guidance.

Celgene Corp. (CELG) is rising 2 percent to $138.80. The company's second quarter earnings were higher than the year-ago quarter and its adjusted earnings per share topped Street view. Total revenue topped the consensus estimate. The company also raised its fiscal 2013 adjusted earnings per share guidance.

QUALCOMM Inc. (QCOM) is up 4 percent to $64.10, Logitech International SA (LOGI) is rising 12 percent to $7.28, TripAdvisor Inc. (TRIP) is gaining 12 percent to $68.84 and Baidu, Inc. (BIDU) is rising 17 percent to $132.73 following the release of their quarterly results.

Decliners: Siemens AG (SI) is down 5 percent to $104.40 following the announcement that it no longer expects to achieve a total sectors profit margin of at least 12 percent by fiscal 2014, mainly due to lower market expectations. The company said that the measures for optimizing the portfolio and reducing costs are largely on track.

Sequenom Inc. (SQNM) is plunging 37 percent to $2.95 and Crocs, Inc. (CROX) is down 24 percent to $12.90 after releasing their quarterly results.
