Pre-market Movers For July 18 (MS, VZ, NOK, CELG, CY, TZOO, SIFY, REDF)

Morgan Stanley (MS) is gaining 5 percent to $27.82. The company's second quarter earnings were higher than the year-ago quarter. Quarterly net revenues improved from the last year period and were above the consensus estimate.

Sify Technologies Ltd. (SIFY) is surging 27 percent to $2.44 following the release of its quarterly results. Rediff.com India Ltd. (REDF) is up 24 percent to $3.10.

Decliners:

Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) is down 0.57 percent to $50.45. The company's second quarter profit improved from the year-ago quarter and its adjusted earnings per share topped Wall Street view. Operating revenues for the quarter improved from the year-ago quarter, but marginally missed the consensus estimate.

Nokia Corp. (NOK) is down 3 percent to $3.91. The company's second quarter loss narrowed from the prior year period, as lower costs helped mitigate the impact of a 24 percent decline in sales. Sales of Lumia smart phones as well as feature phones declined in the quarter.

Celgene Corp. (CELG) is down over 2 percent to $133.17. The company announced that it will discontinue the treatment with REVLIMID in the open-label, phase III ORIGIN trial, which enrolled 450 patients in over 100 sites in 26 countries. The company said that an imbalance was observed in the number of deaths in patients treated with lenalidomide versus patients treated with chlorambucil.

Trading halt:

Trading in shares of Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (CY) was halted. The company's second quarter profit declined from the year-ago quarter, but its non-GAAP earnings per share topped Street view. Revenue declined 4 percent, but was above the consensus estimate.

Trading in shares of Travelzoo Inc. (TZOO) was halted. The company's second quarter profit fell 28 percent, but was above Street view. Revenue rose 5 percent and managed to come above the consensus estimate.
