Pre-market Movers For Feb 24 (VZ, VOD, DDS, RFMD, TQNT, JOSB, GTAT)

(RTTNews) - Gainers:

RF Micro Devices Inc. (RFMD) is rising 21 percent to $7.03 and TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. (TQNT) is surging 25 percent to $11.57. The companies announced a definitive merger agreement to combine in an all-stock transaction. TriQuint shareholders will receive 1.675 shares of the new company and RFMD shareholders will receive 1 share of the new company for each TriQuint or RFMD share held.

Jos. A Bank Clothiers Inc. (JOSB) is gaining 7 percent to $59.20 following the news that Men's Wearhouse (MW) has increased its cash tender offer for the company's all outstanding shares to $63.50 per share from $57.50 per share.

GT Advanced Technologies Inc. (GTAT) is rising 8 percent to $13.15. The company's fourth quarter net loss narrowed from the previous year period and its non-GAAP loss per share topped analysts' estimate. Revenue plunged and also missed the consensus estimate. The company provided a weak outlook for its first quarter. At the same time, the company said it expects to return to profitability during the second half of 2014.

Decliners:

Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) is down 0.53 percent to $47.02. The company announced that it expects to sustain consolidated revenue growth rates and targets 4 percent consolidated revenue growth in 2014. On Friday, Verizon announced that it completed its acquisition of Vodafone Group Plc's (VOD, VOD.L) 45 percent indirect interest in Verizon Wireless. VOD is up over 5 percent to $41.18.

Dillard's Inc. (DDS) is falling nearly 2 percent to $86.44 as the company's fourth quarter results were below Wall Street view.
