Pepper Humanoid Robots To Entertain Guests Aboard Costa Cruise Ships

(RTTNews) - Costa group is planning to use first emotional Pepper robots on board its cruise ships. The company has signed an agreement with Aldebaran, a subsidiary of SoftBank Group for the use of Pepper.

Pepper can read human emotions and respond accordingly, and Costa expects that it will add more entertainment to guests.

An internship was arranged for Pepper to test its seaworthiness and the robot completed the test successfully on board Aidastella.

The robot can speak English, Italian as well as German. It will help passengers while they dine at restaurants and also while embarking. Pepper will be on duty aboard Costa and Aida by next Summer.
