OmniVision Profit Tops Street, Outlook Strong; Stock Up 16% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - OmniVision Technologies Inc (OVTI) Thursday reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $15 million or $0.26 per share compared with $9 million or $0.17 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $23.9 million or $0.40 per share compared with $17.5 million or $0.31 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were $331 million compared with $336.2 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.27 per share on revenues of $292.1 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking ahead to the second quarter, the company expects net earnings of $0.29 to $0.49 per share, adjusted earnings of $0.43 to $0.63 per share and revenues of $360 million to $400 million. Analysts expect earnings of $0.29 per share on revenues of $304.9 million.

Santa Clara, California-based OmniVision develops advanced digital imaging solutions. Its CameraChip and CameraCubeChip products are integrated, single-chip CMOS image sensors for consumer and commercial applications, including mobile phones and tablets, surveillance systems, medical imaging systems, among others.
