NII Holdings Q3 Loss Widens - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - NII Holdings, Inc. (NIHD), Thursday posted a wider loss for the third-quarter, reflecting higher expenses and lower revenues.

For the three-month period, the company reported net loss of $299.9 million or $1.74 per share, compared with a loss of $82.4 million or $0.48 per share last year.

On average, twelve analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report loss per share of $1.17 the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Operating revenues decreased 22 percent to $1.10 billion, from prior year's $1.40 billion. Analysts expected the company to generate revenues of $1.23 billion for the quarter.

Looking forward, the company said it will not achieve its financial guidance for the year given the weak year-to-date operational and financial results, the continued depreciation of local currency exchange rates and the expected impact of Project Accelerate on its results for the fourth quarter.
