Michelle Harnick to Lead Guy Carpenter's Structured Risk Specialty Pr

    NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 2005--Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc., the leading global risk and reinsurance specialist and a part of the Marsh & McLennan Companies (NYSE: MMC), today announced that Michelle Harnick has been appointed to lead the firm's Structured Risk Specialty Practice. Harnick, a Managing Director of the firm, will report to Peter Zaffino, global leader of Guy Carpenter's Specialty Practices. Based in New York, she replaces Robert Darby, Jr., who is leaving the firm for an executive position with an insurance carrier.

    Prior to joining Guy Carpenter in 2000, Harnick was an associate director and actuary at Swiss Re New Markets. She began her insurance career at American International Group, where she worked in the Corporate Actuarial department. A fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and member of the American Academy of Actuaries, Harnick holds a B.A. degree in economics and statistics from Rutgers University.
