Mead Johnson Nutrition Q4 Profit Rises, Guides 2015 Below View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Mead Johnson Nutrition Co. (MJN) reported that fourth-quarter net income to shareholders increased to $158.4 million or $0.78 per share from $152.5 million or $0.75 per share in the prior-year quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net earnings attributable to shareholders totaled $186.2 million or $0.92 per share, compared to $167.2 million or $0.82 per share in the year-ago quarter.

On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.88 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales for the quarter increased to $1.09 billion from $1.06 billion in the same quarter last year. Analysts expected revenue of $1.10 billion for the quarter.

Looking ahead to fiscal 2015, Mead Johnson expects adjusted earnings in a range of $3.90 to $4.00 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to report full-year 2015 earnings per share of $4.69.
