Mattress Firm Q2 Profit Rises, Yet Misses Estimates - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Bedding retailer Mattress Firm Holding Corp (MFRM) on Friday reported second-quarter net income of $21.9 million or $0.61 per share, compared to $14.3 million or $0.41 per share a year ago.
Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter rose to $0.67 per share from $0.61 per share in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.72 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues for the latest second quarter rose 61.2% to $661.06 million from $409.95 million in the prior year, reflecting comparable-store sales growth of 2.8% and incremental sales from new and acquired stores. Analysts expected revenues of $663.58 million for the quarter.
For the full year 2015, the company now expects earnings to be in the range of $2.03 to $2.15 per share and adjusted earnings of $2.30 to $2.45 per share. It now expects revenues of $2.53 billion to $2.55 billion.
Analysts expect earnings of $2.59 per share on revenues of $2.50 billion for the year.
