LG Wearable Device Lets Parents Track Kids
(RTTNews) - LG's new wearable device, the KizON wristband, allows parents to track their kids using GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile internet. The band also features a single button which may be used to call preset numbers.
The device features 36 hours of battery life, and will automatically alert a parent or guardian when its charge is below 25%. The band is constructed of eco-friendly polythiourethane (PTU) material that is water-resistant as well as stain resistant.
"Children as well as the elderly are ideal customers for wearable technologies," LG mobile communications unit CEO Jong-seok Park said in a statement.
"Wearables allow us to stay connected without the worry of losing a device or the inconvenience of having to carry a large item in a pocket. At LG, we're committed to exploring more ways to incorporate wearable devices into consumers' lives in line with our vision to become a leader in wearables."
The KizON debuts in South Korea on July 10 before making its way stateside in the third quarter.
