LexisNexis Announces Integration of CaseMap and Concordance with Its Total Litigator Platform

LexisNexis® today announced the launch of CaseMap® 7 and Concordance™ 2007 and their integration with the LexisNexis® Total Litigator platform – a single online destination providing litigators a complete and integrated set of tools and services to help them strategically manage cases through each step of the litigation lifecycle. The announcement came as LexisNexis participates in LegalTech® New York, the largest annual gathering of the legal technology industry in the United States. "LexisNexis added CaseMap and Concordance through acquisition of Dataflight Software® and CaseSoft® in 2006 as part of our ‘Total Practice Solutions’ strategy of helping litigators win by offering them the most complete set of support tools and services to manage cases at each step of the litigation process,” said Michele Vivona, senior vice president for LexisNexis Litigation Services. "The CaseSoft and Concordance integrations with Total Litigator are among the first significant developments to bring this strategy to life for our clients – maximizing their ability to develop winning case strategy.” CaseMap 7 and Total Litigator Launch of CaseMap 7 software and its integration with LexisNexis® Total Litigator marks a first in litigation technology. By seamlessly linking key tools, attorneys now have a single destination enabling them to research, analyze, plan and manage litigation more strategically and efficiently. "Last year NITA endorsed Total Litigator as 'the best option for litigators' because its simplified, one-stop approach provides attorneys greater control of case management at each step in the litigation process," said Laurence Rose, president & CEO of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA). "The addition of CaseMap transforms Total Litigator into something even more valuable - a unique platform propelling the development of actual litigation strategy." Specifically, the integration enables clients to quickly and seamlessly pull facts, issues, documents and research for any case from other leading litigation support technologies from LexisNexis such as Applied Discovery®, CourtLink® and lexis.com® and send them to CaseMap. Clients may also send information from CaseMap to LexisNexis® Total Litigator for research. These connections help attorneys develop the best, most effective course of action quickly and with confidence - all easily via the single Total Litigator platform. As part of the LexisNexis Case Assessment & Analysis suite of products, CaseMap 7 is also offered as a stand-alone product. Beyond its integration with Total Litigator, new elements include the unique ability to detect bates stamps created by Acrobat 8 and use them to automatically update privilege logs and document spreadsheets, as well as an enhanced "Send to CaseMap” feature that further strengthens CaseMap linking with other tools used by trial teams – including Interwoven®, Hummingbird® and WORLDOX® document management tools. Concordance 2007 and Total Litigator LexisNexis also announced its market leading litigation management tool, Concordance, will integrate with Total Litigator – further enhancing the platform’s status as a litigation strategy tool. Set for launch in March, Concordance 2007 software will offer the ability to perform online research within Concordance by highlighting a subject in the document text and sending it to Total Litigator where a search will be conducted through the different online LexisNexis sources for which the user has access. Additionally, users will be able to link to Total Litigator from within Concordance navigation for access to other litigation support tools such as CaseMap, File & Serve, Applied Discovery, CourtLink and more. "Our goal is to help litigators leverage the complete set of tools, services and expertise we offer via Total Litigator for something greater than the sum of their parts – strategic litigation planning and management,” said Vivona. "The integration of CaseMap and Concordance with Total Litigator clearly makes that aspiration a reality.” Also available as a stand-alone product, Concordance 2007 includes features such as the ability to bulk-send documents from Concordance to CaseMap, integration with EverQuest’s Cognition search technology for more relevant document search results and a familiar e-mail application-style interface for easier navigation and continuity with its online review tool, FYI™. Concordance 2007 also expands its e-mail import Wizard to bring e-mail and e-documents together in a single step - allowing easy establishment of "parent-child” relationships between e-mails and their attachments to reduce the time and cost of document review.
