L-3 Communications Consolidates and Establishes a Government Services

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2005--L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it will consolidate the present L-3 services companies and establish the Government Services Group to provide oversight, coordination and synergy among the company's services businesses. The Government Services Group will be established effective February 1, 2005 and will consist of the following L-3 Communications companies: ILEX Systems, Inc.; Government Services, Inc.; MPRI, Inc.; SYColeman; MPRI Ship Analytics, Inc. and Microdyne Outsourcing, Inc.
The newly formed L-3 Government Services Group, with 2004 revenues of over $1 billion, will focus on business development, financial management and program execution. Building on its presence throughout the United States and in scores of countries overseas, the Government Services Group will provide professional, experienced support to U.S. and foreign governments as well as private sector operations around the world. The synergies that the Government Services Group will achieve among the core competencies of its constituent businesses will facilitate the disciplined and focused growth of L-3's services businesses and expand L-3's role in U.S. national security in 2005 and beyond.
The company has also announced that General (Retired) Carl E. Vuono will become president of the L-3 Government Services Group and will oversee the group's business strategy and performance. He will also continue to serve as president of MPRI.
