Former Match.com VP of product development to lead marketing, creative services and product management

    Infospace Search & Directory, a leading Web search and online directory services provider and a business of Infospace, Inc. (Nasdaq:INSP), today announced that it has appointed Brian Bowman to the position of vice president of marketing and product management.

"Brian has been involved with the Internet since 1995, before it was a commercially viable medium.     In this role, Bowman will lead marketing, creative services and product management for Infospace's Web search and online directory products for consumers and distribution partners. Infospace's network of branded sites includes online yellow pages sites Switchboard (www.switchboard.com) and Infospace.com, and Web search engines Dogpile (www.dogpile.com), MetaCrawler (www.metacrawler.com) and WebCrawler (www.webcrawler.com). Infospace also provides private-label search and directory services for some of the most heavily trafficked sites on the Web, including those operated by leading media companies, ISP's and cable operators.

    Bowman brings 14 years of experience in consumer branding and strategic product planning and development to Infospace. Prior to Match, Bowman was vice president and general manager of ABC.com, the official Web site of the ABC Television Network. From the Academy Awards to "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," he led a profitable and award-winning division. Prior to ABC, Bowman was director of new media for Disney/ABC Cable Networks, where he served as the chief architect of the network's Internet and enhanced programming strategy. He formerly held the position of director of development for Turner Broadcasting, and vice president of operations for USWeb, one of the first Web site development companies.
    Bowman graduated from Purdue University and lives with his wife in Seattle, Washington.
