Huron Consulting Group Names Johnson and Yaeger to Vice President Positions
Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced the appointment of two vice presidents who will lead practices in the Company’s Health and Education Consulting segment.
West Johnson was named vice president, Healthcare Revenue Consulting, replacing Paul Kohlheim, who has stepped down for health-related reasons. Laura Yaeger has been named vice president, Higher Education Consulting. They will join Gordon Mountford, vice president, Healthcare Operational Consulting and leader of Huron’s Wellspring Partners practice, in the overall management of the Company’s Health and Education Consulting segment.
"We are fortunate to have West and Laura’s extensive experience to lead these critical Huron practices. Both individuals have demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities with our people and the growth of our health and education practices,” said James H. Roth, chief executive officer, Huron Consulting Group.
"I also want to express deep gratitude for all that Paul Kohlheim has done since he joined us just over one year ago. His professionalism and warm personality will be deeply missed, and we wish him a speedy recovery,” added Roth.
Johnson has been acting in this capacity since June and will formally assume leadership responsibility for Stockamp, Huron’s healthcare revenue performance improvement practice. He has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare consulting, including substantial revenue cycle experience and depth of knowledge in information systems and technology. Johnson joined the Company as a managing director in July 2008 when Huron acquired the healthcare consulting firm Stockamp & Associates. Prior to joining Stockamp in 1995, he spent 10 years in healthcare and health insurance consulting with Accenture.
Yaeger, who has more than 20 years of higher education consulting experience, will assume leadership responsibility of the Company’s Higher Education business. She specializes in helping educational institutions and academic medical centers with strategic, operational, and financial challenges. Yaeger has substantial experience assisting these organizations with strategic and financial planning, operational performance improvement, and management of their research enterprise. She joined Huron as a founding managing director in 2002.
Huron’s Health and Education Consulting segment represented more than 55% of the Company’s revenues in the second quarter of 2009. The Company helps healthcare institutions and universities respond to increasing funding constraints and regulatory challenges. Huron’s healthcare business includes the Wellspring Partners and Stockamp practices that address performance improvement needs at health systems, hospitals and academic medical systems across the country. Huron’s higher education professionals have assisted 80 of the top 100 research universities. Modern Healthcare ranked Huron second on its 2009 list of the top 15 largest healthcare management consulting firms.
