HSN Inc. Q3 Earnings Retreat 27%

(RTTNews) - HSN Inc. (HSNIV) announced a profit for third quarter that lost ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $27.24 million, or $0.52 per share. This was lower than $37.48 million, or $0.70 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.56 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 4.8% to $823.0 million. This was down from $864.9 million last year.
