Hormel Foods Retirement Announced
Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE:HRL) has announced the planned retirement
of Dennis Scheidt, director of sausage and specialty products
production, effective end of fiscal year 2007.
"Dennis completes a stellar 37-year career
with Hormel Foods, where the products under his direction have shown
significant growth,” said Bruce Schweitzer,
vice president of operations-refrigerated foods. "We
wish Dennis and his wife, Kathy, many years of happiness in this
well-deserved retirement.”
Scheidt started with Hormel Foods as a production management trainee in
the Austin, Minn., plant in 1970. Later that year, he was promoted to
supervisor of manufacturing in the Algona, Iowa, plant. In 1977, he
became general supervisor for the Knoxville, Iowa, plant, and in 1980,
he was named plant superintendent for Knoxville. In 1982, Scheidt was
named supervisor of dry sausage production in the Austin plant. In 1985,
he was named plant manager at Knoxville. He was promoted to director of
sausage and specialty products production in 1991 at the corporate
office in Austin.
