Hooker Furniture Q1 Profit Rises; Declares Dividend

(RTTNews) - Hooker Furniture Corp.'s (HOFT) first-quarter net profit rose to $2.8 million, or $0.26 a share, from $2.1 million, or $0.20 a share, last year. On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.21 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Quarterly net sales were $61.40 million, compared with $56.30 million in the prior-year period.

At its June 5, 2014 meeting, the Company's board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.10 per share, payable on June 30, 2014 to shareholders of record at June 16, 2014.
