Heartland Express Reveals 21% Drop In Q4 Profit

(RTTNews) - Heartland Express (HTLD) reported earnings for fourth quarter that lost ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit fell to $17.02 million, or $0.20 per share. This was lower than $21.54 million, or $0.25 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.20 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 14.0% to $174.61 million. This was down from $203.00 million last year.
