Heartland Express Announces 34% Drop In Q3 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - Heartland Express (HTLD) revealed earnings for third quarter that declined compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line dropped to $15.11 million, or $0.17 per share. This was lower than $22.74 million, or $0.26 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.25 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 15.9% to $182.53 million. This was down from $217.09 million last year.
