Heartland Express Announces 23% Fall In Q4 Profit

(RTTNews) - Heartland Express (HTLD) reported a profit for fourth quarter that declined from last year.

The company said its profit fell to $13.11 million, or $0.16 per share. This was lower than $17.02 million, or $0.20 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.15 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 19.8% to $140.04 million. This was down from $174.61 million last year.
